What's New in the Optasia Library?

We continue to add new materials and update  and edit materials we have in the library.  For a complete list of what we offer, please visit the Optasia Library page of our website.

Here we plan to track some of the more significant changes that may be of particular interest to our users.

 

September 2009

A significant upgrade to Optasia formatted Bibles.

Thirteen versions in a collection that allows users to easily compare versions.

Enhanced search capabilities are added.

These thirteen versions will soon be available individually, offering enhanced search options over the previous Optasia Bibles.

The same thirteen versions are also being prepared in html format that can be used on the victor Stream Reader.

 

August 2009

All currently published volumes of the New international Commentary, New Testament are added.  2 Peter and Jude will be added when it is published.

 

July 2009

Most available volumes in the Preaching the Word series are added to the library.

 

July 2009

The Old Testament Hebrew text is added to the library.  This is accessible for those who can access brl files with a Braille display

 

May 2009

The Preachers Commentary series on the whole Bible is added.

 

March 2009

We have begun adding the NIV Study Bible.  This is a process which will take several months.

 

November 2008

The Bible Speaks Today series on the New Testament is added, as well as the Through the Bible Series by J. Vernon McGee, although the latter will be available only upon request.

 

October 2008

The Anchor Bible Dictionary is added, as well as many volumes in the Word Biblical Commentary series

The library expands onto a third CD ROM disk.

 

September 2008

New King James Version is added.

 

August 2006

Some Bible versions are posted in RTF format for accessibility with the Victor Stream Reader.

 

July 2008

A number of new books have been added to the Evangelism and Leadership sections of the library

 

June 2008

The greek text of the New Testament suitable for embossing or reading with a Braile display.

The Greek text formatted to sound like Greek text when read with a screen reader.

 

April 2008

We put some of our books into a new section called Children and Adult Reading and added The Chronicles of Narnia

 

March 2008

NIV Application Commentary on the Old Testament Prophets is added.

About this time the library requires 2 CD ROM disks.

 

February 2008

The Optasia song book is added to the library, with over 1,000 hymns and contemporary songs.

A helpful New Testament series by Tom Wright is added to the library

 

July 2007

The Bibles that are uniquely formatted by Optasia Ministry are upgraded to add a simple word or phrase search option.

 

March 2007

The Optasia Library is first made available.
